Role summary

Essential criteria
- NVQ3 or BTEC Cert. In Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
- Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacy technician

- Accredited Checking Technician (ACT)
- Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician
- Computer and IT literate
- Competency in use of spreadsheets and large database
- Preparation of written reports and procedures
- Writing and maintaining SOPS, reports and performing audits
- Good team player - able to work alone and supervise others when necessary
- Able to use initiative
- Assertive
- Good oral and written communication skills

Job summary
We are recruiting for a Band 5 Electronic Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy who shares our ambition to provide high-quality care and an outstanding experience for every patient, every time.
This role is ideal for a Pharmacy Technician who is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and holds an NVQ3 or BTEC Cert. Previous experience in pharmacy services is essential, while background experience Wellsky dispensing systems, or electronic prescribing systems is highly desirable. You will be supported by a dedicated team of cancer pharmacy staff to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients on day case units and wards.
You will be responsible for supporting the development, configuration, testing, and ongoing management of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). Acting as a champion user of the system, you will provide critical helpdesk support and help train pharmacy, nursing, and prescribing staff. Additionally, your day-to-day activities will include participating in the dispensary, managing stock control, operating the chemotherapy desk, and counseling patients on their medication.
