Role summary

Essential criteria

  • HNC, HND, degree or relevant trade/technical qualification in a building, engineering, estates or related discipline, or working towards this with equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of post-qualifying continued professional development relevant to estates maintenance, health and safety or statutory compliance.
  • Experience of planning, prioritising and coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Experience of supervising staff, contractors or work activities to ensure safe and effective delivery

Desirable criteria

  • IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification
  • Qualified in line with 18th edition electrical regulations.
  • Professional registration of a relevant body, i.e. IHEEM/CIBSE
  • Authorised Person, Designated Responsible Person or equivalent appointment in one or more relevant healthcare engineering disciplines, for example HTM 06-02 Electrical Services, HTM 04-01 Water Safety, HTM 03-01 Ventilation Systems or HTM 08-02 Passenger Lifts.
  • Experience of working within an NHS, healthcare, mental health, public sector or similarly regulated environment.

Job summary

We are recruiting a Band 6 Estates Officer.

The post-holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management and supervision of the departments Engineering, Building and Grounds Maintenance Teams.

You will have managerial responsibility for estates staff at all levels. The post holder is expected to plan, develop and provide an efficient, cost effective, customer focused, fit for purpose service using a mix of in-house staff and external contractors.
