Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Team Lead Stroke Specialist Physiotherapist to join the Integrated Stroke Therapy Service, primarily based in the community stroke team. The role involves clinically leading the Physiotherapy team, providing highly specialist assessment and treatment for patients with complex stroke rehabilitation needs, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team. You will plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate the community stroke service, requiring flexibility and access to a vehicle for travel between sites. The role also includes participation in a weekend working rota.

Essential criteria

  • HCPC registration
  • professional registation
  • registered with an appropriate professional body
  • Registration with Health and Care Professions Council as PT
  • Profession specific Degree/ Diploma
  • Significant post graduate experience, including experience in a relevant specialist role
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team and wider system partners
  • Experience of undergraduate student and/or support staff supervision
  • Contribution to clinical education of junior staff, students and assistants
  • Clinical supervision, including formal appraisal and objective setting
  • Experience of working in the stroke therapy pathway as band 6
  • Use of a range of neuro specialist treatment modalities

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Team Lead Stroke Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Integrated Stroke Therapy Service. The role will be working as part of the stroke pathway but primarily based in the community stroke team.

The job focus will be to clinically lead the Physiotherapy team in collaboration with our current band 7 PT. You will work closely with the wider MDT providing highly specialist advanced assessment and treatment of patients with complex stroke rehabilitation needs on the stroke pathway. You will be a HCPC registered therapist with sound knowledge and experience of stroke.

As the clinical lead, you will plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy community stroke service in partnership with the other clinical leads and the operational manager.

We have an experienced leadership team working in the community service therefore you will have a strong support system in place for anyone new into a band 7 role.

Flexibility in working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service along with access to a vehicle is essential to commute between sites. The role will also include working as part of the weekend working rota across the stroke therapy pathway.
