Role summary

This role is for a Clinical Pharmacist at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre, a collaborative venture specializing in elective bone and joint surgery. Essential criteria

  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council

Job summary

Based at Central Middlesex Hospital, the orthopaedic centre is a collaboration between the four acute trusts in north west London:

  • Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
  • The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Trust
  • London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

The centre specialises in elective bone and joint surgery and sees patients from across 12 hospitals and 8 boroughs. It is a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with continual improvements being made to discharge pathways.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to meet the needs of the enhanced recovery pathway. The post-holder will support in the management of the ward Pharmacy service, including suggesting, implementing and reviewing service improvement changes. Additionally, the post-holder will be involved in providing a Pharmacy pre-op service to elective surgical patients across London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.
