Role summary
This role is for an experienced Theatre Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust on a bank contract. You will provide high-quality patient care within the perioperative setting across various hospital sites and specialties. The position requires sound clinical knowledge and a commitment to teamwork and safe patient care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care, ensuring high standards in line with evidence-based practice.
Key responsibilities
- Act as practice supervisor or assessor to students, including teaching and assessing.
- Uphold the philosophy of evidence-based practice.
- Take part in rotation through all specialities in the departments to meet the needs of the service.
- Access, plan, implement and evaluate holistic, high quality and Individualised care.
- Ensure all patients receive a high standard of care in line with evidence-based practice.
- Maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Essential criteria
- Registered Operating Department
- Experience within operating department including paediatrics.
- Knowledge of clinical information management.
- Initiates and participates in the communication process to facilitate the development of a supportive, cohesive team.

Mid and South Essex Trust are looking to recruit Theatre Practitioners across all of our hospital sites and specialties.
We are looking for enthusiastic Registered Nurses/ODPs with sound clinical knowledge with Theatre Clinical skills or a desire to develop into a Theatre Practitioner's role.
