Role summary
As a Maintenance Craftsperson, you will provide support services for the routine and non-routine repair, maintenance, and operation of a wide range of building services, equipment, and systems across the Trust. You will perform planned tasks, input data into computer systems, and liaise with Trust Management, staff, and contractors to ensure optimal operation of all building services, plant, and equipment. The role involves working Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, based in Colchester but covering all of Essex.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out installation, repair and maintenance work on the building fabric and a wide range of mechanical/electrical building services plant and equipment.
- Actively participate in the operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance system completing worksheets and logbooks.
- Undertake the full range of Maintenance Craftsperson duties, using hand and power tools and test equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults of mechanical and/or electrical/electronic and/or plumbing systems in Trust buildings.
- Participate in the Estates Department out of hours on call rota to ensure that emergency repairs are attended to.
- Liaise with Estates Officer regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary for repair.

As a Maintenance Craftsperson you will provide support services for the routine and/or non-routine repair, maintenance and operation of a wide range of building services, equipment and systems across the whole range of Buildings and equipment maintained by the Trust. The Maintenance Craftsperson will also perform a range of planned tasks, inputting data into computer based systems and liaise as necessary with Trust Management, nursing, other support staff and contractors to ensure optimal operation of all building services, plant and equipment.
Main duties of the job
