Role summary
This role involves providing pharmacy assistant support to the clinical pharmacy team at ward level, focusing on medicines management and dispensing services. Key responsibilities
- Provide pharmacy assistant support to the clinical pharmacy team and ward based medicines management at ward level.
- Work closely alongside Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians to help reduce medication waste, support appropriate storage of medicines, and process medication orders.
- Provide medicine dispensing services where necessary.
- Assist in the training of other team members, such as Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians and new entrants.
- Take part in the late dispensary, weekend, and bank holiday shift system.
- Undertake designated training and consistently demonstrate competence in relevant underpinning knowledge and skills at NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services.
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Basic numeracy and literary skills
- Experience in pharmacy dispensing
- Experience of supervising staff in training
- Experience in customer/patient orientated role
- Ability to organise own day to day work tasks
- Standard keyboard skills
