Role summary

Key responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacy assistant support to the clinical pharmacy team and ward based medicines management at ward level.
  • Work closely alongside Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians to help reduce medication waste, support appropriate storage of medicines, and process medication orders.
  • Provide medicine dispensing services where necessary.
  • Assist in the training of other team members, such as Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians and new entrants.
  • Take part in the late dispensary, weekend, and bank holiday shift system.
  • Undertake designated training and consistently demonstrate competence in relevant underpinning knowledge and skills at NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services.
