Role summary
This is a 1-year fixed-term Assistant Clinical Psychologist role within the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team in Suffolk. The post holder will deliver bespoke interventions to service users aged 14-65 experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The role involves supervised clinical practice, co-delivery of training, and co-running therapeutic groups. It also offers opportunities to work on research and quality improvement projects within the Trust. The team focuses on evidence-based principles and continuous improvement.
Essential criteria
- A BPS accredited degree in Psychology.
- Experience of quantitative research.

- Experience of research in the NHS.
- Skills using microcomputers for databases or date analysis, especially SPSS for Windows.
- Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
- Ability to interact and communicate sensitive information to patients and colleagues.
- Presentation Skills.
- Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
- Knowledge of mental health.
- An understanding of psychology applied to health care.
- High standard of report writing
- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
- An ability to apply existing knowledge to a mental health context.

Job summary
EIP Suffolk are excited to offer a 1 year fixed-term / internal secondment opportunity for a full-time (37.5 hours / week) Assistant Clinical Psychologist to join our highly skilled and experienced team delivering bespoke and timely interventions to our service users, aged 14 - 65 years, and their families who may be experiencing their first episode of psychosis in line with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence Quality Standards for Early Intervention Services.
We are looking for psychology graduates who have clinical experience and who are particularly interested or experienced in working with people with mental health needs, their families or wider systems and are especially passionate about improving outcomes for individuals living with psychosis. We are looking for individuals who can be compassionate, thoughtful and have the ability to apply psychological knowledge to their work and are open to developing their skills and understanding within the remit of the service provided.
Please note, we will only consider applicants who hold a degree which meets Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC)/Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS). Please state this clearly in your application.
