Role summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term or secondment opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist. The role involves working across two clinical rotations, including acute wards, outpatient settings, community neuro, and Discharge to Assess. The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, assessing and treating patients, and will also mentor junior staff and students. Independent travel across multiple sites is essential for this role.

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Band 6 rotation for a 12 month fixed term or secondment opportunity commencing in November 2026. The successful candidate will work in two of the clinical rotations on offer (acute wards, outpatient settings, community neuro and Discharge to Assess.) Rotations are 9 month s in duration.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across Stockport and to GP's across Manchester, Tameside, East Cheshire and Derbyshire and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes in order to provide time critical visits. Where possible, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a committed team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, and Therapy Assistants delivering a service at Stepping Hill Hospital and in the Stockport community.
The post holder will provide 12 month vacancy cover within two of the specialist areas on a 9-monthly basis within Stepping Hill Hospital and other Stockport Foundation Trust sites. They will participate in CPD, clinical audit and in-service trainin
