Role summary
This role involves delivering specialist clinical care within the Core Needs Project, primarily in schools, assessing children and young people with neurodiverse needs. You will formulate person-centred care plans and work autonomously, conducting evidence-based triage, screening, and diagnostic assessments. The position also includes supporting the Clinical Team Leader in developing assessment pathways, providing clinical supervision, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team across health, social care, and education.
Essential criteria
- Diploma or Degree in Professional qualification equivalent to RMN, Registered Social worker, OT or equivalent AHP
- A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical practice and service
- Knowledge of Autism & ADHD, standardised assessments and their use in practice
- Registration with the HCPC/NMC or equivalent

- Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent

- Skills and Competencies
- Able to demonstrate effective inter personal/communication skills
- Evidence of good time management skills
- Ability to commute between the various sites
- Awareness of leadership/management skills and qualities
- Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in the relevant service area
- Evidence of working with individuals with Neurodiverse needs

Job summary

As a key clinician within our Core Needs Project and part of the Experts At Hand offer, you will deliver specialist clinical care to your own caseload and across the wider service. Working primarily within schools, you will assess children and young people with neurodiverse needs and formulate person-centred care plans. This role sits within the broader Children's Neurodevelopmental Team, so expertise and knowledge across neurodevelopmental presentations are valued.
You will be an autonomous clinician, accountable for your own clinical practice, delivering evidence-based triage, screening and diagnostic assessments for neurodevelopmental referrals. You will review referral forms, complete holistic and functional assessments, and provide clear advice and care plans.
You will support the Clinical Team Leader in developing and refining our neurodevelopmental assessment pathway, sharing specialist knowledge across the team, providing clinical supervision to peers and junior staff, and building strong links with our wider support and intervention pathways.
