Role summary
The National Safeguarding Service is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead high-profile safeguarding programmes across Wales. This role involves leading complex projects from start to finish, ensuring they are well-managed and deliver positive outcomes. You will work with various partners, manage risks and resources, and engage with senior stakeholders to drive transformational change in safeguarding.
Essential criteria
- Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Project and/or Programme management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience

- Masters Level Qualification
- Experience of management and managing successful projects
- Effective partnership working in the public sector
- Experience of effective stakeholder working with external bodies
- Experience as a formal project manager

Job summary
The National Safeguarding Service (NSS) is seeking an ambitious and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-profile safeguarding programmes that support the protection of children, young people and adults across Wales.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the National Safeguarding Service at the forefront of safeguarding improvement, working alongside NHS Wales organisations, Welsh Government, local authorities, regional safeguarding boards and other key partners to deliver transformational change.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring programmes are well-governed, effectively managed and deliver meaningful outcomes. You will provide expert project management support, coordinate multi-agency workstreams, manage risks and resources, and engage confidently with senior stakeholders across Wales.
