Role summary

This role is for an experienced Medical Secretary Pathway Coordinator to join the Diabetes & Endocrinology Secretarial Team at Queens Hospital, Burton. You will provide comprehensive medical secretarial support to consultants and their teams, ensuring efficient patient pathway coordination. The position requires a highly organised, motivated individual with excellent communication skills to manage a varied workload independently and collaboratively. It is a part-time role, 30 hours per week, with working days to be agreed locally, but Monday availability is essential.

Essential criteria

  • Ability to communicate effectively written, face to face and telephone
  • Experience & Knowledge
  • Experience of working in a customer care/patient care environment
  • Substantial experience in an NHS Administrative role

  • Experience of working in a supervisory or mentoring role

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Medical Secretary Pathway Coordinator to join our Diabetes & Endocrinology Secretarial Team at Queens Hospital, Burton. You will play a key role in providing a professional, efficient and comprehensive medical secretarial service to consultants and their teams, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Working closely with consultants, clinicians, administrative colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for managing a varied workload and ensuring patient pathways are effectively coordinated. The role requires a flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across the service.

The successful candidate will be committed, adaptable and possess excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills. This post is 30 hours per week, with working days to be agreed locally; however, applicants must be available to work on Mondays.
