Role summary
This Staff Nurse role is within Kestrel ward, a Tier 4 In-patient CAMHS Adolescent Unit in Abergele, North Wales, treating young people aged 11-17 with complex mental health needs. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, support, and treatment interventions to children and their families. The role requires confidence, patience, tolerance, and creative problem-solving skills. Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Health Nurse RN3 First Level , Sub part 1, or/and Registered Nurse Learning Disability or Paediatric Nurse.

- Qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
- Experience working within a Multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience working with young people.
- Experience with individual and group work.
- Experience of working within a therapeutic milieu.

Job summary
Kestrel ward is a Tier 4 In-patient CAMHS Adolescent Unit which provides treatment for young people aged 11-17 years old with a range of with complex mental health needs and risks that cannot be managed in the community. The unit is based at the North Wales Adolescent Service in Abergele- North Wales and operates alongside an Intensive community support team and Virtual eating disorder service to support the young people of North Wales.
We encourage applications from RMNs, RNCs and RNLD both newly qualified and those with experience looking to specialise or broaden their scope of practice.
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and forward- thinking staff nurse available to work full or part time to within Kestrel ward. Prior experience of working with young people is not required, however a willingness to learn and develop the therapeutic skills needed is key.
For successful candidates there will be opportunities for further training and professional development, in line with the complex needs of the service. Staff wellbeing and support is an important part of the NWAS ethos and the ward offers its team twice weekly staff support sessions as a group, as well as individual line management and clinical supervision.
