Role summary
This role involves providing specialist data analysis and management expertise to support sustainability initiatives across Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) and West London NHS Trust. The successful candidate will collect, validate, analyse, and report sustainability data to inform decision-making and measure progress towards environmental goals. They will work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to the Trusts' Green Plan and NHS Net Zero objectives. The position requires travel between sites and a passion for using data to make a positive environmental impact within the NHS.
Essential criteria
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. data analysis, statistics, sustainability or related discipline)
- Working knowledge of data management, governance and compliance principles (including GDPR)
Desirable criteria
- Qualification or training in environmental sustainability or carbon management
- Training or awareness in data governance, information management or data protection
- Experience working with datasets, including data collection, validation, analysis and reporting
- Experience using analytical tools (e.g. Excel) to develop reports, dashboards or support decision-making
- Experience communicating analytical findings to non-technical audiences
- Experience supporting workstreams or projects through data analysis and monitoring
- Experience working with multiple datasets or systems
- Experience using data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI)
- Experience in healthcare, public sector or sustainability-related environments
- Experience working with environmental, carbon, estates or utilities data
- Experience applying benchmarking approaches across multiple data sources
- Experience supporting energy management assessments
- Skills and Knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data and identify trends, issues and opportunities
- Ability to maintain accurate, structured, standardised and consistent datasets
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse and manipulate data
- Ability to contribute to the development of standardised data processes and a "single source of truth"
- Working knowledge of data quality, governance and compliance requirements
- Awareness of NHS Net Zero targets, carbon reporting or sustainability frameworks
- Awareness of benchmarking approaches and performance monitoring
- Knowledge of NHS reporting systems (e.g. ERIC, PAM)
- Awareness of industry standards such as UKGBC, CIBSE or similar
- Awareness of carbon reporting methodologies including the Green House Gas Protocol, SBTI, TCFD.

Although employed by CLCH, you will work across both CLCH and West London NHS Trust, with your time shared equally between the two organisations. The role includes working from sites across both Trusts, so the ability to travel between locations using public transport, active travel (such as cycling) or car is important.
