Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a positive and flexible team player to work in our very busy Diabetic Eye Screening department for Barnsley and Rotherham. The programme offers diabetic eye screening to over 42,000 people with diabetes in the Barnsley and Rotherham area with the base at the new Alhambra outpatients.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, computer literate and logical thinking you will be well motivated and have a patient centred approach to continue and maintain the reputation of the diabetic eye screening service. The post holder will need to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work use. The post holder will need to have the Health Screeners diploma or happy to work towards this.

The interview date for this role will be 2nd October 2026.

Main duties of the job

As a Retinal Photographer you will be screening patients independently within in clinic. This includes undertaking a visual acuity, instilling eye drops and taking retinal photographs.
