Role summary
This role involves leading the CIVAS and Parenteral Nutrition (PN) services as a Chief Aseptic Services Technician. You will provide operational leadership, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant preparation and supply of high-risk injectable medicines and outsourced nutrition. The position requires maintaining and developing the Pharmaceutical Quality System, driving continuous improvement, and managing staff performance. You will collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, and clinical colleagues to shape the future of aseptic services, upholding patient safety and quality standards.
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Post graduate technical services qualification or equivalent demonstrated portfolio of experience and short courses
- Demonstrated experience of operationally managing and planning aseptic supply services with extensive experience of aseptic services
- Managing a pharmaceutical quality management system and the identification and reduction of risk
- Multidisciplinary working within professions involved in the supply of aseptic doses with extensive experience of working within a multidisciplinary CIVAS, PN or Chemotherapy service
- Demonstrated knowledge of the validation requirements for pharmaceutical facilities, equipment and products
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals and patients within a hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to adjust plans and organise a number of different operations to ensure all targets are met.
- Demonstrated ability to train and assess others in a GMP compliant manner
- Demonstrated ability to apply specialist knowledge GMP, GCP, Quality Assurance to ensure a safe and effective service provision

We are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Chief Aseptic Services Technician to lead our CIVAS and Parenteral Nutrition (PN) services. The Chief technician reports to the accountable pharmacist and is responsible for providing operational leadership to a the aseptic services team, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant preparation and supply of high-risk injectable medicines and outsourced nutrition. The post holder will play a key role in maintaining and developing the Pharmaceutical Quality System, driving continuous improvement, managing staff performance and development, and ensuring delivery of service objectives aligned with Trust priorities. Working closely with pharmacy, nursing and clinical colleagues, you will help shape the future of aseptic services while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, quality assurance and operational excellence.
