Role summary

This role is for a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant Therapy Practitioner based at Kingfisher Court, Radlett. You will support the established OT service, helping people using services to establish roles, routines, and interests. The position involves working independently with service users and facilitating group interventions, with supervision from occupational therapists. Key responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate occupational groups guided by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Work individually with service users on specific tasks and therapeutic activity guided by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Carry out specific Occupational Therapy assessments as guided by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Promote a culture of engagement in meaningful occupation within the service.
  • Provide interventions consistent with Trust standards and values.

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of Occupational Therapy role within setting
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated packages
  • A Levels and/or Health and Social Care NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or mental health problems
  • Experience of leading groups and 1:1 interventions
  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Qualification in relevant area

Job summary

Are you interested in working in a flexible, forward thinking team? The Occupational Therapy team are looking for a band 4 Occupational Assistant Therapy Practitioner (ATP) to be based at Kingfisher Court, Radlett to support the established OT service. This is an exciting opportunity for an independent and self-sufficient practitioner, who would like to help support people using our services to establish roles and routines, and interests whilst on the wards, as well as help identify occupational need.

We are looking for someone who is excited to become part of our team, who would like to help us take forward developments around trauma informed care, positive behavioural support planning and sensory integration.

There is supervision by the occupational therapists, and an opportunity to apply for the funded OT apprenticeship.
