Role summary
Moorfields Eye Hospital is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Transformation team. The role involves using data to find efficiencies, drive informed decisions, and improve patient outcomes, supporting various improvement projects. Key responsibilities
- Capture information from relevant stakeholders and transfer to intelligence.
- Provide detailed interpretation and recommendations relating to analysis.
- Develop and maintain regular reporting for both internal and external recipients.
- Manipulate and analyse data using advanced Excel skills, including combining data from multiple sources.
- Extract and manipulate data from the trusts data warehouse using TSQL on Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
- Present verbal and written reports and represent the Transformation team at internal and external meetings.
Essential criteria
- Degree in a technical/numerate field (e.g. Maths, Computer Science) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Significant experience as a data analyst producing outputs such as reports, dashboards, and visualisations for varied audiences.
- Experience using data to support service change or improvement
- Experience working in the NHS or healthcare sector, particularly with hospital service
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data accurately, ensuring high data quality, confidentiality, and security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience SQL querying and describes completing relevant tasks utilising coding development
- Advanced Microsoft Excel user (e.g. formulae, pivot tables etc) and describes completing relevant tasks utilising spreadsheets
Desirable criteria
- Masters degree or similar qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience working in the NHS or healthcare sector, particularly with hospital services.
- Experience using advanced specialised computer software such as electronic medical record system, financing software or customer relationship management (CRMs)
- Experience coding in R or any other coding language applied for data analysis
- Knowledge of project management or improvement methodologies (e.g. Agile, PDSA).
- Experience with business intelligence tools especially Qlik Sense.
- Experience with developing dashboards in QlikSense
