Role summary

Essential criteria
- Foundation degree or Certificate of Achievement Part 2
- Able to use laboratory equipment ranging from manual pipettes to Microscopes
- Ability to perform a range of tests appropriate to the post
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team under supervision
- Experience using a laboratory information management system
- Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence
- Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Desirable criteria
- To have a basic understanding of good laboratory practice and health and safety.

Job summary
The Eastern Pathology Alliance is formed from three Pathology Laboratories based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), the James Paget University Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn.
The Laboratory at NNUH provides a large range of Blood Sciences services comprising Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion, Immunology and Toxicology. The service provides test results reports to support the Acute Trust and Primary Care Trusts requirements.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Practitioner Healthcare Scientist in Haematology laboratory. Full training will be given in all aspects of the role.
Main duties of the job
An Associate Practitioner Healthcare scientist is required to perform a range of analyses in the NNUH Blood Sciences Laboratory covering haematology utilising knowledge and skills gained through a Foundation Degree or Certificate of Achievement Part 2 and relevant practical experience.
