Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified diagnostic radiographer to join the MRI team at St Mary's Hospital in London. The role is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave, starting November/December 2026. The successful candidate will perform a diverse range of diagnostic MR procedures, including cardiac imaging, for both adult and pediatric patients. They will also be involved in protocol optimisation using the latest AI reconstruction technology and demonstrate leadership within the team.

Essential criteria

  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
  • HCPC registration

Desirable criteria

  • Post-Graduate Study
  • Previous whole body MRI scanning experience
  • Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques
  • Experience of training staff and students
  • Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care
  • Previous experience at Band 7 Level
  • Skills/knowledge/ abilities
  • Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff
  • Ability to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience and circumstances
  • Ability to work using own initiative but also to know when to seek assistance and guidance
  • Keep all records up to date in a clear, accurate and concise manner on a day-to-day basis
  • Teaching, counselling and supervisory skills
  • IV injecting skills
