Role summary

This role involves working as a Clinical Healthcare Support Worker within the Cardiology Pre-admission team. You will coordinate daily Cardiology Outpatient clinics, manage administrative tasks, and support patients. The position requires an organised, IT-literate individual with excellent communication skills, focused on patient care. You will work under the supervision of pre-admission nurses as a vital part of the wider Multidisciplinary Cardiology Team.

Key responsibilities

  • Administrative preparation of daily clinics.
  • Preparation of clinic rooms and collation of information.
  • Coordinating the running of clinics and meeting/greeting patients.
  • Acting as a chaperone, recording 12 Lead ECGs, and performing venepuncture if required.
  • Liaising with the Site team for patient admissions and supporting patients with mobility or psychologically.
  • Using Trust IT systems and contributing to audit and improvement processes.

Essential criteria

  • Working in a healthcare setting for over 1 year
  • Possess a healthcare qualification
  • Evidence of IT literacy

Clinical Healthcare Support Worker - Cardiology Pre-admission

Job summary

Working in a small team of Clinical Health Care Support workers and under the supervision of the Preadmission nurses, you will be joining as a vital part of the wider Multidisciplinary Cardiology Team.

Managing the day to day coordination of the Cardiology Outpatient clinics-these include Nurse Practitioner/Consultant/Clinical Fellow and associates. You will be organized, IT literate, a great communicator and always be patient focused.

Currently we work between the hours of 7am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Please note-we welcome informal visits.

Main duties of the job

Administrative preparation of the daily clinics.

Preparation of the clinic rooms

Collating all information pre and post clinic.

Coordinating the running of clinics on a daily basis.

Meeting and greeting patients.

Acting as a chaperone if required

Recording 12 Lead ECGs if appropriate

Venepuncture if required.

Liaising with the Site team if a patients requires admission.

Supporting outpatients with mobility if required.

Supporting patients psychologically if requiring following/during clinic appointments.

Using the Trusts IT systems

Being involved with the audit process and involved with the Improving Together process.
