Role summary

This role seeks a passionate and highly motivated professional to develop their expertise in Autism and ADHD assessment for children and young people. You will join a robust multidisciplinary team to provide assessments, formulations, and post-diagnostic support, contributing to the future of these services in Gloucestershire. The position involves working closely with education professionals and offers opportunities for service evaluation and development. We are looking for practitioners with an interest and expertise in Autism and ADHD diagnostic work, from various clinical backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Work as part of an MDT to complete assessments for Autism and ADHD with children and young people
  • Complete profession specific assessments to aid formulation
  • Offer supervision and consultation to professionals working with neuro-diverse young people and families
  • Take responsibility for, and develop, projects to improve the experience for neuro-diverse young people in Gloucestershire
  • To work closely with education colleagues to ensure young people's needs are understood and met
  • Offer pre/post diagnostic groups to families.

Essential criteria

  • Relevant professional registration
  • Degree in relevant profession
  • Experience of working with children young people and families
  • Experience working with Neurodiverse young people

Desirable criteria

  • Additional post graduate course in Autism or ADHD
  • Masters or doctorate level qualification
  • Experience of working in Mental Health
  • Experience completing complex, profession specific, assessments
  • Experience completing ADOS assessments
  • Experience teaching or presenting to a range of audiences
  • Additional skills and training in key areas such as DLD, DCD, Learning disability
  • Positive, passionate, proactive approach

Job summary

This role is offered on a permanent basis. The hours are part-time, 22.5 hours per week.

We are looking for a passionate, highly motivated professional who is keen to further develop their knowledge and experience of Autism and ADHD assessment in children and young people. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of shaping the future of these services in Gloucestershire. You will be part of developing a robust, evidence based, multi-agency assessment and post diagnostic intervention service, whilst developing your clinical skills around neurodiversity.

You will join a robust MDT ofPaediatricians, Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses and Occupational Therapists, in addition to working closely with Education Professionals. You will have the opportunity to positively impact the future of children and young people by offering robust assessments of Autism and ADHD, comprehensive formulations of need and tailored post diagnostic support. You will also be offered the opportunity to support the evaluation and development of the service, through both local resources and linking to teams across the South West.
