Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to women and families with infant feeding, in line with individual feeding choices and plans.
- Support breastfeeding, expressing, formula feeding, and responsive feeding practices in accordance with Trust guidelines.
- Promote positive infant feeding experiences and support bonding and attachment between parents and babies.
- Reinforce infant feeding information and care plans agreed by registered professionals.
- Identify and report any concerns or deviations from expected progress to the midwife or registered professional promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in line with Trust policy and professional standards.
Essential criteria
- Good Basic Education to GCSE Level or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Care, or equivalent appropriate experience.
- Good communicator
- Professional
- An inherent interest and developing knowledge of infant feeding and its practicalities.
- Understanding of Confidentiality
- Competent IT Skills
- Ability to manage workload
- Demonstrative experience in a similar role in a caring profession
- Experience of supporting with breastfeeding mothers
- Experience of working in a team NHS Experience
Desirable criteria
- Completion of BFI course or similar.
- Completion of BFI course
- Clerical experience including data input
