Role summary
This role is for a MASH Safeguarding Practitioner within the Gloucestershire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub. The post holder will contribute to the health component of the MASH service, working with partner agencies to ensure effective integrated decision-making for early help and safeguarding. It requires significant experience in safeguarding children practice and processes in Gloucestershire. The role involves collating and interpreting health information for multi-agency risk assessments and participating in strategy meetings.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and collate relevant health information for multi-agency risk assessments.
- Record, interpret, and present health information impacting risk or needs assessments for children and young people.
- Participate in MASH multi-agency risk assessments, advising and challenging decisions as appropriate.
- Disseminate decisions and health information to relevant health professionals.
- Promote effective communication among health professionals within GHC, Primary Care, and other providers.
- Represent health at safeguarding strategy discussions and contribute to threshold decision-making.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse / Specialist Public Health Nurse/midwife/ Allied Health Professional / Social Worker
- First degree or equivalent
- Supporting Evidence of Post Registration Education relevant to safeguarding
- Possess professionally relevant & core specific competencies
Desirable criteria
- Post Registration Qualification within specialty or equivalent
- Experience of working within a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
- To provide recent evidence of involvement in service development and service improvement

Job summary
The Health Team within the Gloucestershire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is recruiting. We are therefore looking for calm, and motivated practitioners, who are experienced and passionate about safeguarding children, to become MASH Safeguarding Practitioners. The post holder(s) will contribute to the health component of the MASH service, working alongside partner agencies to ensure that effective integrated and well-informed decision-making leads to early help and responsive safeguarding. An excellent knowledge and significant experience of safeguarding children practice and process in Gloucestershire is essential.
