Role summary
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Occupational Therapy (OT) team in Elmbridge Neighbourhood mental health services. The role involves delivering individual and group OT interventions, including the Occupation Matters Programme, Recovery through Occupation, and New Horizons discharge pathway. You will conduct comprehensive OT assessments, guided by the Model of Human Occupation, and contribute to service development and audits. The team offers extensive CPD programmes and a robust supervision structure.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, both group and individual.
- Communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies.
- Contribute to the generic functioning of the team.
- Provide supervision and mentoring to more junior occupational therapists, apprenticeships, support workers and activities coordinators.
- Provide occupational therapy student placements.
- Contribute to service development and audits.
Essential criteria
- HCPC registration
- Occupational Therapy professional qualification
- Relevant post qualification clinical experience
- Experience of using relevant occupational therapy assessment and implementing interventions
Desirable criteria
- Completion of a Fieldwork Educators' course
- Experience of contributing to service development/project work
- Experience as a supervisor

Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and join our dynamic Occupational Therapy (OT) team in Elmbridge Neighbourhood mental health services .
We offer innovative ways of delivering OT in Elmbridge. The post will include delivering both individual and group OT interventions offering a clear care pathway, these interventions include:
- Occupation Matters Programme - a 20 week group which utilises Lifestyle Redesign principles.
- Recovery through Occupation - a 6 week group which uses the Re-Motivation process to improve an individual's motivation and social skills.
- New Horizons - our occupational therapy led discharge pathway to support a smooth transition from secondary services
- Individual occupational therapy
- Comprehensive occupational therapy assessments
- Memorey matters: group using cognitive rehabilitation principles for people with mild Dementia
We use Model of Human Occupation to guide all our OT assessments and interventions, focusing on embedding occupational science and neuroscience into our practice.
