Job summary

Our Team, primarily based at St Jamess University Hospital, with a small base at the Leeds General Infirmary, consists of two other Education and Simulation Technicians plus the Lead as well as two porters, and an AV Technician. Together we organise and support simulation training post graduate courses from Foundation Year all of the way up to Consultant level across a range of specialties. We collaborate closely with clinicians throughout the Trust to consistently provide high quality ongoing education.

Educational events range from managing simulated patients with robots such as 3G SimMan, both in the department and in-situ, as well as surgical courses that we provide animal tissue for (typically pig), keeping the role varied.

For this role you will need to be comfortable with handling animal tissue and their internal organs.

You will also work closely with our administration team who arrange the trainees and faculty for each course.
