Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated lead medicines management pharmacy technician to cover maternity leave within cardiac and respiratory services at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The role involves leading and managing the day-to-day ward-based services, working closely with the clinical pharmacy team and ward multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will be responsible for the safe and cost-effective provision of medication and will manage a team of Pharmacy Technicians and assistants. You will be supported in developing your leadership, management, and quality improvement skills.

Essential criteria

  • Level 3 Diploma in Principles and practice for pharmacy technicians or equivalent. ? Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification ? Medicines optimisation training (MOP)
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent
  • Quality Improvement training
  • Educational Supervisor, Train the trainer or equivalent qualification
  • HR training

Desirable criteria

  • Level 4 - Clinical Diploma for pharmacy technicians or equivalent
  • Advanced medicines optimisation training (Clinical Prioritisation)
  • Change managemen

  • Proven experience of good performance in previous posts.
  • Previous significant experience of working in hospital setting
