Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Phlebotomist to join Homerton Healthcare. The role involves collecting blood samples using evacuated blood-letting systems from various clinical areas including Outpatients, Antenatal, wards, and community. Key responsibilities
- Obtain blood specimens using evacuated blood technique from wards, community and outpatients.
- Ensure that work areas are clean and tidy at all times.
- Take samples to the pathology department as necessary.
- Ensure that all patient information is correct and specimens are labelled correctly and appropriately.
- Work as part of the team, providing support and assistance to colleagues were necessary.
- Liaise with all other health care professional as necessary.
Essential criteria
- Phlebotomy Competency Certificate
- Ability to treat patients and colleagues, courteously and with respect. Be able to give out information in a clear and concise way
- Substantive experience in phlebotomy
- Working as part of a team
- Knowledge/ understanding of confidentiality issues
- General role phlebotomy and infection control standards knowledge
- Understanding and demonstration of the Trust Values
- Commitment and adherence to equality, diversity and inclusion, and willing to learn and to develop skills
Desirable criteria
- GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
- Care Certificate
- NVQ in Healthcate
- Working in line with policies and procedures
- Working in a hospital environment
- Providing a service to the general public

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Homerton Healthcare as a Band 3 Phlebotomist.
We are looking for a highly motivated Phlebotomist's, with experience of evacuated blood-letting systems. We have the Phlebotomy Service running in the Main Outpatients Department, Antenatal, wards, community, children and other clinical areas. Collecting blood samples in accordance of electronic EPR/tQuest system and request forms procedures.
This person must be punctual, reliable, a team player, have willingness to learn and good communication skills.
This person must be flexible and able to work at weekends (this will be on a rota basis). We are hiring for 1 full-time (37.5 hours) Phlebotomist
