Role summary
Swan Ward is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join as a Deputy Charge Nurse/Deputy Sister. This role involves supporting the Ward Manager in leading and supervising high standards of nursing practice and delivering evidence-based patient care. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on patient safety, fluent admission and discharge processes, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities
- Promote and help to manage delivery of a quality nursing service, setting and monitoring clinical standards.
- Be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
- Work as a Team Leader and Deputise for the Ward Manager within the framework of team nursing based on internal night rotation.
- Support the Ward Manager in leading and supervising a safe, high standard of nursing practice and the delivery of evidenced based patient care.
- Assist the Ward Manager in providing and developing good nursing practice ensuring that said practices are in accordance with department and hospital policy.
- Determine nursing care priorities, planning the delivery of patient care taking into account the skill mix of staff.

As a Multidisciplinary Team we are proud of our effective team-working, with Clinicians, Trauma Coordinators, Therapy team and Discharge team, working closely with our trauma and orthopaedics clinics, Wards and other specialists, in addition to our nursing and multidisciplinary team support.
