Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Acute & Emergency Care team at Darlington Memorial Hospital as a Registered General Nurse on the Acute Medical Unit. The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for medical emergency patients, providing first-line treatment. The aim is to rapidly plan care to facilitate discharge home from the AMU. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly motivated, contributing to a committed, caring, and compassionate team.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patients needs and develop, implement and evaluate plans of care.
- Organise the delivery of nursing care, deploying staff effectively.
- Communicate to team members changes to patient information and treatment plans.
- Adhere to NMC standards of record keeping.
- Supervise the work of nursing support staff, ensuring tasks undertaken have been delegated appropriately.
- Participate in the education and training of junior staff.
Essential criteria
- Clinically up to date with Nursing Skills, Venepuncture, cannulation, catherterisation and ECG recording
- Registered Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register
- Valid UK NMC PIN
- Good communication
- Reliable and Enthusiastic
- Interests in all aspects of Acute Medical Assessment
- Must have current NMC PIN

Job summary
This is an exciting time to join Acute & Emergency Care
at Darlington Memorial Hospital as we continue to improve the process and
experience for patients who are admitted to Hospital in an emergency. We are
seeking to appoint a Registered General Nurse to join our Acute Medical Unit.
If you like a challenge, and are able to work at a very fast
pace,enjoy working collaboratively then working as part of our Acute Medical
Unit multidisciplinary team may be the job for you. It would place you as a
member of a committed, caring and compassionate team, who are supportive and
knowledgeable about their specialty.
You will work closely with our experienced and friendly
multi disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the medical
emergency patients care, providing first line treatment. This rapid plan of
care enables 40 percent of admissions to be discharged home from the AMU.
