Role summary
This role is for an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead a team in Stroke services, covering a maternity leave. You will manage complex caseloads in both acute and rehabilitation settings, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams and senior leadership. The position offers leadership development and opportunities for training and innovation within the Occupational Therapy department.
Essential criteria
- Occupational Therapist registered with Health Professions Council
- Degree or Diploma of Occupational Therapy
- Fieldwork educators certificate or equivalent
- Evidence of relevant C.P.D. in line with HCPC guidelines
Desirable criteria
- Member of R.C.O.T.
- Evidence of further study / research in clinical specialty
- Member of relevant Special Interest Group / Specialist section
- Evidence of management / leadership training
- Working to a level of expertise, knowledge and judgement commensurate with MSc
- Significant experience in relevant field of practice
- Close working with multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of supervising Occupational Therapy staff / students
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support and lead a team in the clinical area of Stroke. This is a secondment or fixed term role to cover a maternity leave.
You will manage your own and support others with complex caseloads in both Acute Stroke and Stroke Rehab
The role involves close working with the MDT as well as divisional Senior Leaders. There will also be close working with senior leadership in Occupational Therapy.
The Occupational Therapy department offers opportunities to take part in training opportunities and innovation in an ever changing environment.
There are ample leadership development opportunities. You will supervise and appraise members of the team and support the development of junior staff.
Main duties of the job
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with highly developed clinical skills in stroke services. You will have a lead role in initiating, planning, implementing and leading the service developments in the Stroke Occupational Therapy Team on a day-to-day basis.
