Role summary
This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to the North West Assistive Technology (NWAT) Multi-disciplinary team, which includes Rehabilitation Engineers, Occupational Therapists, and Admin staff. The successful candidate will act as a primary point of contact for communication with health and social care professionals, patients, and carers. The position requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a commitment to patient care and a flexible approach to working. The NWAT service provides assistive technology to patients with complex needs across the North West region, helping them maintain independence at home.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administration support to the NWAT Multi-disciplinary team.
- Act as point of contact for all forms of communication for Health and Social Care Professionals, patients and carers.
- Record and analyse agreed data for the NWAT MDT Team in accordance with Trust and National Guidelines.
- Input accurate and timely data into the NWAT team database and systems.
- Co-ordinate key Team meetings, ensuring outcomes are notified to appropriate staff within agreed time frames.
- Deal with correspondence, telephone and personal enquiries relating to appointments, cancellations and information.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care
- Use of computer systems
- Previous healthcare sector experience
- Previous clerical experience

- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to use own initiative
- Enthusiastic and hard working
- Can prioritise workload by use of time management

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team.
NWAT is a specialist NHS Regional Service providing assistive technology, advice and support to patients with complex needs, to enable them to retain greater independence in their place of residence.
It serves a population of almost 7 million people living in the Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, Lancashire and South Cumbria Region.
The service provides environmental control equipment to enable patients with complex needs to enhance their independence within their home environment, which may include the installation of technology to access remote control telephones, bed controls, intercoms, sockets and entertainment equipment.
The successful candidate will have administrative experience, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a commitment to customer / patient care and a flexible approach to working.
