Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Critical Care Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at King George Hospital as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. The role involves providing clinical leadership, education, and support to the nursing team, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care for critically unwell patients. You will coordinate the unit, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of Critical Care nursing practice. The successful candidate will embody the Trust's PRIDE values in their leadership and clinical practice.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised, evidence-based care for critically ill patients.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation in accordance with NMC and Trust requirements.
- Demonstrate advanced critical care knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of acutely and critically unwell adults.
- Develop and implement appropriate interventions and action plans to optimise patient outcomes.
- Act as the patient's advocate and practise at all times in accordance with the NMC Code.
Essential criteria
- Registered General Nurse
- Post graduate course in Critical Care
- Sufficient critical care experience and a skilled competent critical care nursing practitioner able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Teaching qualification e.g. ENB 998,
- Experience in audit and research
- Experience in quality improvement

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Care Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at King George Hospital, Ilford, as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse.
You will be part of a highly motivated team caring for critically unwell patients requiring Level 2 and Level 3 care. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Critical Care Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and the ability to lead and support others in achieving these standards.
You will provide clinical leadership, education and support to the nursing team including new staff and colleagues requiring additional development. You will act as a role model, regularly coordinate the unit and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, individualised and evidence-based care.
You will also contribute to the continued development of Critical Care nursing practice, supporting improvements in quality and patient experience in line with local and national standards.
