Job summary

You will play a key role in supporting designated Consultant(s) and providing a professional service to patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals. The majority of patients are referred via the Urgent Suspected Cancer (USC) pathway, making this a busy and varied role where communication, organisation and timely coordination of patient care are essential. You will be the primary contact for patients, offering reassurance, information and advice, while managing clinics, inpatient waiting lists, admissions and TCIs using EPR and other relevant systems. You will coordinate theatre cases and support maximum theatre capacity utilisation, while maintaining and validating waiting lists in line with Trust protocols and Department of Health Referral to Treatment waiting times. Working closely with Consultants, GPs, hospital departments and peripheral clinics, you will manage queries, arrange pre-clerking appointments and admissions, and ensure investigations and results are brought to the Consultant's attention and appropriately actioned.
