Role summary
This is a Band 5 Crisis Clinician post within the Darlington Crisis Team, open to registered nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers. The role involves providing crisis services to adults in the Durham area, including a 24-hour crisis line, telephone triage, and initial assessments. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, operating on 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week. Newly qualified applicants are welcome and will receive full training and a Preceptorship programme.
Essential criteria
- RNMH, current professional registration with NMC or Social Worker, current professional registration with HCPC.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale.
- Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

- Post-graduate qualification in a relvant area
- Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Manage own time and prioritise effectively
- Motivate and work positively and assertively with other members of the team.
- Provide effective teaching, training and clinical supervision (within agreed timescale).
- Use approved breakaway techniques (within agreed timescale).

- Competency in venepuncture
- Working with people with mental ill health
- Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
- Working in a community setting
- Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers

Job summary
We have a post available within the Darlington Crisis Team and we are looking for passionate, skilled qualified clinician to join us.
The team provides crisis services to adults within the Durham area, providing a 24 hour crisis line, telephone triage, initial assessments, and a place of safety for those detained on section 136 by police.

Main duties of the job
