Role summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 7 Sonographers to join their expanding team. The role involves performing a range of ultrasound examinations across three acute and five community hospital sites, covering general abdominal, obstetrics, gynaecological, and other specialities. The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, maintaining high clinical expertise in ultrasound imaging and reporting, and contributing to the training and development of staff. Job summary

Working pattern: Full Time / Part Time / Weekend / Flexible shift patterns available.

You will need to hold a qualification in Medical Ultrasound and must be competent to undertake an Ultrasound scan and report it independently. As a minimum you will be expected to hold a Pg. Cert in Medical Ultrasound that has been accredited by the Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE) or assessed for equivalence by the ultrasound management team.

HCPC, NMC or RCT registration is also essential to this post. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. As a large teaching organisation, we provide teaching experiences for trainee sonographers and specialist registrars.

We work closely with Sheffield Hallam University providing world-class teaching to nurture and develop the next generation of sonographers, many of whom go on to spend their working lives with us.

We are happy to consider applications from trainees nearing the end of their Ultrasound training or from midwife sonographers who are qualified in Ultrasound.
