Role summary
Dorset County Hospital is seeking a motivated and experienced Cross-Sectional Radiographer to join their team, providing a seven-day CT and MRI service. The role involves developing and sustaining high-quality imaging services, participating in staff training, and maintaining high standards. Essential criteria
- Considerable post graduate experience in CT and MRI
- Evidence of continuing professional development and interest in a speciality area.
- Evidence of participation in clinical governance.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary imaging team
Desirable criteria
- Experience of supervising junior staff and students
- Evidence of participation in departmental audit
- HCPC registration
- BSc diagnostic radiography
- Post graduate training or extensive experience in a specialist field.
- Evidence of technical skills in MRI/CT
- Evidence of ability to communicate with patients, relatives and all levels of staff throughout the organisation.
- Understanding of legislation governing the practice in a radiology department.
- Ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary working.
- Ability to supervise and train undergraduate radiographers and Students.
- Ability to organise and manage the daily running of the cross-sectional department.
- Ability to act as Deputy to the MRI/CT Lead in their absence
- Ability to participate in CPD training sessions by delivering training

Job summary
Dorset County Hospital is looking for a motivated and experienced Cross-Sectional Radiographer to join our team providing a seven-day service to the Trust. This is an ideal opportunity to develop your career in a proactive and innovative hospital environment. You will be involved in staff training, maintaining high standards and development of the service.The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Dorset County Hospital is a cohesive, friendly and forward looking department. We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all Diagnostic Imaging staff and are very proud to be accredited with the Quality Standard for Imaging.
We have three CT scanners; a Canon Prism and a GE Evo performing a range of procedures including CT Colonography, Cardiac CT and Interventional scans, and a GE Ascend in our CDC site in Weymouth Community Hospital.
We also have two Siemens MRI scanners performing a wide range of imaging, including cardiac MRI.
The new emergency department, due in 2027, will also have a new CT scanner located in the heart of the department. We actively encourage staff development and innovation, including radiographer reporting.
