Job summary

Due to service expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an additional Senior Peer Support Worker within the Southern Gambling Service (SGS). The role is part-time at 22.5 hours. We are seeking an individual who has lived experience of gambling difficulties and recovery and is passionate about reducing stigma and shame and increasing access to gambling treatment. We recognise the value peer support brings to our service as part of integrated treatment pathways. We are a regional NHS gambling service based at College Keep in Southampton, but the role will involve predominantly remote working from home. The team meet monthly, in person, at College Keep and some mandatory training will require traveling to Trust sites in Hampshire.

The Senior Peer Support Worker will use their own personal experiences of managing mental health and recovery, to provide hope, empathy and a different practical perspective through support, dialogue and acting as a role model.

The postholder will provide day-to-day coordination, supervision and support to the Southern Gambling Service Peer Support Team, ensuring consistent, recovery-focused peer support is delivered across all localities.
