Role summary

This role is for a highly motivated Production Officer to join the Pharmacy Technical Services team, specifically working within the overlabelling and repackaging service. The successful candidate will set up and prepare medicines, follow standard operating procedures, and undertake relevant training. Once trained, they will act as a releasing officer under the MHRA licence and assist with quality systems to ensure compliance with manufacturing processes.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) in Pharmaceutical Science or an undergraduate degree in chemistry or biological sciences minimum 2:1 Registered, or eligible to be registered, with the GPhC, Science Council (SMT), Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, with the GPhC, Science Council (SMT), Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology
  • Commitment and evidence of continuous professional development
  • Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
  • Extensive recent experience of working in hospital or industry pharmaceutical aseptic services manufacturing units with associated training
  • Computer literate with good general keyboard skills, for using the pharmacy computer systems, including ordering, receiving and stock and rectifying stock discrepancies
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as with all colleagues as part of a team

We are looking to recruit a highly enthusiastic motivated individual to join our well established team in Pharmacy Technical Services to work within the overlabelling and repackaging service.

The MHRA licenced 'Specials' pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern purpose built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy and pre-pack (over labelling and repackaging products) supplying both the Trust and external organisations. As a department we constantly strive to re-engineer our services to improve our delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Production Officer to work with our team in Pharmacy Technical Services.

The successful candidate will work within our overlabelling and repackaging unit and will be required to set up and prepare medicines made within Pharmacy Technical Services. The post holder will be expected to understand and follow standard operating procedures.The role includes undertaking relevant training, both external and internal in aspects of Pharmacy Services and associated technical activities and once trained you will act as a releasing officer under the term
