Role summary
This role supports the Urology secretarial department by providing a comprehensive administrative service. Key responsibilities include managing inpatient and outpatient waiting lists, communicating with patients and carers regarding appointments, and typing correspondence. The successful candidate will also help outline new efficient processes and support the delivery of local and national NHS targets.
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
Desirable criteria
- Educated to NVQ Level 2, OCR 2 or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office package
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in a clerical post
- Previous experience working in a Healthcare environment
- Knowledge of the Hospital EPR system
- Able to use own initiative.

- Ability to work in a demanding, pressurised environment
- Ability to work with confidential information

Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
- An exciting opportunity has arisen with in our Urology secretarial department. The successful candidate will be required to support the Medical Secretarial Team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service, outline new and efficient processes and inpatient and outpatient waiting list management for our speciality, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy. You will be required to communicate appointments and admission related information to patients and carers along with answering queries both verbally and written, and typing correspondence within performance targets as appropriate, and supporting in the delivery of the local and national NHS targets, while supporting with the management and utilisation of clinics within your area.
