Role summary
This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist assessment, treatment, and care to adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties in the community. Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Health Nurse and Registered with the NMC
- Educated to Diploma level
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Advanced knowledge of current Mental Health Legislation and practice
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Extensive knowledge of Mental Health issues
- Knowledge of research based, and evidence-based interventions
- Advanced knowledge and application of the Care and Treatment plans
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 for those parts of the Act that directly affect the Community Psychiatric Nurses role
- Understanding of clinical governance

Job summary
You will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to provide specialist assessment, treatment and care to a caseload of people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties from within the local community.
The successful candidate will be required to provide care to service users within the legal frameworks of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, the Social Services and Well- Being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act (1983)
You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible in approach, able to work autonomously as well as with statutory and non- statutory service providers.
Effective communication and engagement skills are fundamental to this role, as well as a current evidence-based knowledge and a commitment to working with individuals adopting a recovery approach and a commitment to working within a trauma informed model of care.
