Role summary
This Staff Nurse role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to work in an inpatient rehabilitation unit at Woking Community Hospital. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing 24-hour care to patients requiring rehabilitation before returning home. The role involves treating a variety of conditions including post-stroke, falls, post-operative recovery, dementia, and general reduced mobility. You will work days and nights on a rota and develop your nursing competencies and personal skills.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) and has current live PIN on NMC register
Desirable criteria
- Mentorship and assessment qualification
- Degree or Diploma in relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- Interest in working in rehabilitation
- Interest in working with frail older adults.
- NHS or equivalent health care system experience is essential
- Knowledge of professional nursing standards
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Able to accurately assess, monitor and document risk
- Is able to problem solve quickly, accurately and innovatively.
- Has IT skills. Able to use email, basic word and excel packages.
- Understanding of adult protection issues
- Skills and knowledge in nurse led discharge or willingness to learn.
- Experience of working with older adults, including patients with confusional states/dementia.
- Experience of working with post-stroke patients/ neuro-rehabilitation.
- Knowledge and skills within clinical governance
- Knowledge and skills in benchmarking.
- Knowledge of community hospitals agenda

expected to work autonomously, you will not be alone. Alexandra Ward based around a
multi-disciplinary team model, working with Consultants, Doctors, talented
health Care assistants, Physiotherapists, Community Rehabilitation Assistants,
Adult Social Care and also liaising with other community services.
You will
develop your skills in treating patients with a wide variety of conditions, including
post-stroke, falls, and post-operative recovery of fractures, dementia, general
reduced mobility due to co-morbidities, cognitive impairments and various other
medical conditions
We support our
staff to develop in their nursing competencies and personal developments
The wards work
closely with universities to support student nurses and will work with
individuals to develop their personal and professional growth
