Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to work with children and young people with neurodevelopmental and neurological needs within a dynamic therapies team in East Kent. The post involves assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating interventions, supporting parents/carers, and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and other services. The team offers a hybrid approach to work, including clinic, home, school, and virtual settings, with strong support and training opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate intervention for neurodevelopmental and neurological conditions.
- Support parent/carers/other professionals to maximise potential.
- Work as part of a Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) and in partnership with health, education and social services colleagues.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with wider MDT, for example, wheelchair and equipment services.
- Support mainstream schools, early years settings and local special schools.
- Develop integrated care plans in partnership with the child, young person and / or family recommending and supporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted and specialist level.
Essential criteria
- Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body Physiotherapist/ HCPC) Degree in a health relevant subject
- Experience of recent community/acute healthcare gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment
- Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS
- Knowledge of up to date clinical practice
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to organise own work
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda's for health under the guidance of the team lead.
- Ability to prioritise care delivery in a professional manner, taking into account Trust policies and procedures

We are a dynamic therapies team based in East Kent, who recognise the importance of integrated working with Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and a Care Co-ordination team, to meet the needs ofthe child/young person. We offer a hybrid approach to work offering different evidence-based approaches e.g.clinic/home/school/ early years settings/ virtual; community participation.
We are part of Kent's Children's Therapies and pride ourselves on the support and induction for staff, including regular meetings with line manager, clinical supervision, clinical leadership from our ClinicalSpecialists and Children's Leads and regular opportunities for inhouse and accredited external training whichcover a wide range of topics.
