Role summary
Join a busy and friendly radiology department as a Senior Radiographer, participating in service provision and out-of-hours duties. The role requires expertise in Radiology, including CT/Cath lab/IR experience, and the ability to supervise and train staff. You will work a combination of days, nights, and on-call shifts, covering Monday to Sunday.
Key responsibilities
- Fully participate in service provision, including out of hours services.
- Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in Radiology, holding a cannulating certificate.
- Supervise and train other staff and students.
- Provide a high standard of expertise and care, leading areas of the department in the absence of the Modality Superintendent.
- Provide a diagnostic imaging service in areas where trained both in and out of normal working hours.
Essential criteria
- Current HCPC Registration
- BSc or equivalent in radiography
- Experience of A&E, theatre and out of hours work
- Good knowledge of all general aspects of radiography & evidence of CPD
- CT, IR, MRI experience
- Good written & verbal communication
- Ability to teach & lead others
- Ability to use initiative
- Understanding of team work
- Ability to manual handle
Desirable criteria
- Attendance at relevant study days and courses.
- Audit experience
- Experience of teaching and training students and other new members of staff
- NAI experience
- Knowledge of QA testing
- RPS Trained
- Member of a specialist Imaging Group such as TIG, GIRSIG or Association of Paediatric Radiographers
