Role summary
This is an opportunity for a Band 3 Specialised Therapy Assistant to join the Community Integrated Assessment Team (CIAT) in Stockton. The role involves assisting Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in delivering therapy and rehabilitation to patients in their homes or care settings. You will work independently within agreed competencies, monitor patient progress, and encourage them to achieve rehabilitation goals. The position is full-time and based predominantly at Billingham Health Centre, covering Stockton and surrounding areas.
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards/ or existing relevant experience
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 3 in healthrelated subject or equivalent level of qualification
- Certificate in Health Care Studies, Foundation Degree or relevant qualification
- Demonstrate sound basic knowledge and understanding of a broad range of medical conditions/pathologies, particularly those affecting older people
- Experience of prescribing and fitting less complex equipment /adaptations required to meet peoples needs under the supervision of a therapist
- Clinical Experience of working in therapies
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Able to work autonomously with arms length supervision
- Ability to follow a plan and escalate for support appropriately as required
