Role summary
The CAMHS Practitioner will deliver a high-quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties in Tamworth. This role involves managing a defined caseload, focusing on complex needs, and providing specialist assessment and evidence-based interventions. The practitioner will also contribute to risk assessment and management, and participate in team and service development. They will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and may supervise other team members.
Essential criteria
- First level professional nursing/AHP/Social Work/Therapy qualification in mental health, Social Work Nursing or AHP or equivalent with demonstrable knowledge and continuous post qualified experience/professional development
- Professional registration with HCPC, NMC or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Psychological intervention Qualification including EMDR, CBT, CBTp, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT
- Registered practice assessor/supervisor

- Experience of assessing, planning, co- ordinating and managing CYP with mental health problems in a community setting
- Experience of working in a CAMHS, crisis or community setting

Our CAMHS team in Tamworth is looking to recruit a CAMHS Practioner who will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with children and young people and their families who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties.
Acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide assessment, psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at risk assessment and management. They will complement the multi-disciplinary working of the team, providing supervision for other team members, as agreed with the Team Lead.
In addition you will participate in team and service development and evaluation, and liaise, advise and consult with a wide range of agencies.
Main duties of the job
- Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, which includes, specialist assessment (within service specification), and care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans for CYP
