Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and registered Pharmacy Technician to join a friendly team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves providing pharmaceutical care, delivering ward-based medicines optimisation, and supporting the inpatient pharmacy. You will start at Band 4 and progress to Band 5 upon completion of an individualised development plan. Experience in hospital pharmacy is not essential as full training and development will be provided.
Key responsibilities
- Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients;
- Deliver a high quality ward based medicines optimisation service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust;
- Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members;
- Support the inpatient pharmacy where required;
- Carry out accuracy checking commitments

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to progress your pharmacy career. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of pharmacy technicians who provide a range of pharmaceutical services in this busy acute hospital Trust.
In this progressive role, you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to practice at an advanced level in the hospital setting. As the successful candidate, you will first commence in the role at band 4, and then upon completion of an individualised development plan you will progress to your role as Clinical Pharmacy Technician, Band 5.
You need to be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC to apply, however applications from candidates due to qualify & register within 6 months will be considered. Experience of hospital pharmacy is not essential as you will be well-supported in training and developing into this role.
