Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist specializing in Cardiac Rhythm Management & Invasive Cardiology. The role involves working across all Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust sites, gaining exposure to various aspects of cardiology services including complex device implants, Electrophysiology, PCI, IVUS, and pressure wire studies. The successful candidate will contribute to a rapidly expanding cardiology service with significant planned investment and opportunities for professional development.

Essential criteria

  • BSc (Hons) or MSc Healthcare Science (cardiac), Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • ILS or equivalent
  • BHRS or IBHRE
  • Post graduate specialism

Desirable criteria

  • RCCP/AHCS or HCPC registration
  • Higher professional qualifications, eg MSc
  • Be able to contribute to cardiology teaching
  • Able to wear lead apron and concentrate for long periods
  • Effective written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrate willingness for personal professional development and participate in service development.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to display diplomatic and caring nature when dealing with all patients and grades of staff.
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Uk driving license
  • Experience & Knowledge
  • Able to work independently in invasive/ non-invasive cardiac diagnostics
  • Experience at band 6 or above
  • Sound knowledge of Cardiology and the ability to demonstrate competence.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Able to provide technical reports independently
  • Excellent computer skills, competent in Microsoft Word
  • Use of email
  • Able to work under pressure

Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Cardiac Physiologist keen to join an innovative team of Cardiac Physiologists and other Health Care Professionals?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist specializing in Cardiac Rhythm Management & Invasive Cardiology at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our busy and friendly team. You would be expected to work across all sites to gain exposure to all aspects of cardiology that the service provides. Currently the Maidstone site offers complex device implants and Electrophysiology, whilst the Tunbridge wells site offers PCI including PPCI (in hours), IVUS and pressure wire studies.

The successful applicants should have BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology)/ BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Cardiac Science)/MSc Healthcare science (Cardiac) or equivalent plus IBHRE or BHRS device accreditation. Ideally, they should be registered with AHCS or HCPC. 15% R&R bonus payment applies if registered with AHCS or HCPC and accredited with BHRS or IBHRE.
