Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Physiotherapist to join the East Therapy Hub within Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves working in a multidisciplinary community rehabilitation team, providing therapy services to prevent hospital admissions and support independence. It is a 6-month fixed-term post to cover maternity leave, requiring a car driver with access to a vehicle for community visits. The successful applicant will receive support through a Preceptorship programme and regular supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to meet the complex needs of patients in a diverse community.
- Provide community therapy services, including rehabilitation at home.
- Work effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Undertake lone working as an essential part of the role, requiring a car and access to own vehicle for visits.
- Apply good working knowledge of the principles of clinical governance.
Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
- Current Health Professionals Council registration
- Evidence of relevant training
- Relevant community experience/assessment/treatment for client group
- Experience of MDT working
- Effective written and verbal communication/computer literacy
- Knowledge and application of clinical effectiveness, EBP and outcome measures.
- Ability to safely handle patients and equipment and to work in a range of positions.
- Evidence of reflective practice/CPD
- Demonstrates awareness of sensitivity to the needs of individuals from diverse social and cultural groups
- Able to work independently and delegate work to others appropriately
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
- Valid UK driving licence
- Access to vehicle for work purposes

- Demonstrates a problem solving approach
- Awareness of current government drivers and initiatives.

Are you a registered Physiotherapist looking to develop your skills and knowledge within the field of multidisciplinary community rehabilitation? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic practitioner to work in our friendly and supportive therapy hub within Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This post is based within the East Therapy Hub and is an 12 month fixed term to cover maternity leave.

Main duties of the job
East Therapy Hub provides community therapy services within the Adults and Community Division. We work closely with the Early Intervention Community Teams and District Nurses to provide rehabilitaion at home to prevent admission to hospital and ongoing support to maintain the independence and health of people. Our service consists of a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Technicians, Rehabilitation Assistants and admin staff.
