Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly specialist Band 7 Children's Occupational Therapist to join the dynamic Evelina London Community Children Occupational Therapy team. The role involves working with families to deliver occupation-focused therapy to children in clinics, homes, and schools, particularly those with Neurodevelopmental Disorders. The successful candidate will support service development, quality improvement, and transformation work, providing various models of care including direct intervention and advice. They will also supervise Band 6 Occupational Therapists and technical assistants, contributing to service training and innovation projects.
Key responsibilities
- To carry out advanced Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments of children with a range of special needs, particularly complex social and communication disorders such as Autism.
- To manage a highly specialist caseload independently.
- To use advanced clinical reasoning skills to analyse and interpret complex assessment findings to formulate uni-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary outcomes.
- To identify and select from a wide variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions using a client-centred approach.
- To teach and demonstrate specific therapeutic techniques to parents/carers and education staff to enable them to carry out an Occupational Therapy programme.
- To provide Occupational Therapy services to children in schools, involving management, co-ordination, delivery of therapy, and supervision of junior staff.
Essential criteria
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working and multi agency working.
- Previous experience of working in community and/or education settings
- Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning skills in relation to treatment and assessment of paediatric clients.
- Experience of managing other occupational therapists/ support staff.
- Knowledge and experience of a wide range of assessment and treatment techniques for paediatric neuro development.
- Able to organise and manage own caseload, and delegate to less senior members of staff.
- Have a understanding of the Special Education Needs Legislation
- Show evidence of being selfmotivated and remaining updated with professional practice and new research.
- Able to formulate care programmes, and identify goals.
- Recognised training course for an Occupational therapist.
- State registered Occupational Therapist (Health Professional Council)

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team. We are looking for a highly specialist experienced band 7 children's occupational therapists, to join our dynamic Evelina London Community Children Occupational Therapy team.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with families to deliver occupations focused therapy to children and families in clinics, home and school as well as work alongside colleagues in the multidisciplinary/multi-agency team.
The post holders will be experienced with working with children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders as well as other developmental difficulties - preferably in community settings. All post holders will work under the supervision of experienced clinical specialists/ team leaders.
